Rick Fouchex

Rick's first appearance with Woolly was in 1983 in R.U.R.  He also appeared in The Choir and received Helen Hayes nominations for his roles in Heaven and Dead Man's Cell Phone. He has been a regular performer in many other theaters in the DC area. Last season Rick was featured as an artist in residence at Theater J and began their 2011 season as Bernie Madoff in Imagining Madoff. Nominated by Woolly Mammoth, Rick was selected as a 2011 Lunt Fontanne Fellow of the Ten Chimneys Foundation, a national program dedicated to the continuing development of American actors of the stage. He is a twice winner of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. Rick is on the faculty of George Washington University where he will appear this fall as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice. He has also worked for many years at the Kennedy Center's playwrights intensive seminars for the American College Theatre Festival. He lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife of 33 years, Mary Jeanne Jacobsen.
