JOEY BLAND (Ensemble) Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Joey Bland recently played the title role in the Second City’s long-running hit musical Rod Blagojevich, Superstar, a role cited was cited by the Chicago Tribune as one of Chicago’s Best Theatrical Performances of 2009. Before that, he spent two years in the Second City Touring Company. In Chicago, he regularly performs with the musical improvisational troupe, Baby Wants Candy, and with The Improvised Shakespeare Company. In 2005, Joey was a two-time champion on Jeopardy. BROOKE BREIT (Ensemble) is thrilled to be back at Woolly after performing in Barack Stars. Originally from North Carolina, Brooke graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, and improvised with Mama's Pot Roast. In addition to globetrotting with the Second City Touring Company, she has performed at iO Chicago and the Annoyance in shows like Love is Dead and her critically acclaimed solo show, idiot: a love story in pieces. LILI-ANNE BROWN (Ensemble), a native Chicagoan, wears the following hats regularly (and gets paid 70% of the time): actor, singer, director, writer, casting director. Perhaps this is why she doesn’t have a boyfriend. You may have seen her playing poker with Patrick Swayze on television, or singing, dancing and wearing various wigs onstage. She can next be (un)seen directing the Chicago premiere of Passing Strange for Bailiwick Chicago, where she is a Collective member. Thanks to Mom for the unflagging support.
LORI MCCLAIN (Ensemble) was born in Toledo, OH and studied acting at Wright State University. In 2004, she performed for US Troops in Iraq as part of a Second City USO Tour. Improv credits include: Sirens, ComedySportz, and Whose Chorus Line Is It Anyway? (co-creator/director). Among favorite scripted roles: Xena, Warrior Princess in Xena Live! and as Patti Blagojevich in Rod Blagojevich Superstar! Lori sings jazz with the Lori McClain Trio and television commercials include Meijer’s, Aldi, Walmart, and Lyrica.
REBECCA SOHN (Ensemble) is thrilled to return to DC. She is an alumna of The Second City e.t.c. Theatre in Chicago. Acting credits: The Butcher of Baraboo (Steppenwolf), An Immigrant Class (Remy Bumppo), What Once We Felt (About Face). TV/Film: Early Edition, Rogers Park, Stages of Emily. Writer/performer: Hope is a Four Letter Word (Second City), Idiot Tango, The Inventions Show (Annoyance). Currently she writes, performs, directs, teaches and facilitates for SC and Annoyance. BILL BUNGEROTH (Director) is proud to have had the opportunity to direct such a superlative group of actors. SHAWN PACE (Stage Manager) has been stage-managing all over the country for the last decade. He just returned from, stage-managing Hello, Dolly! At Arkansas Rep. He is excited to return to The Second City. He has previously Stage Managed BizCo for two years and Jewsical! the Musical for Second City. Career highlights include being part of the Tony Award-winning 2001-2002 season at Minneapolis’ The Children's Theatre Company, where he stage-managed Grimm Tales, A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings and The Wizard of Oz. He has worked at Chicago Shakespeare Project, Noble Fool Theatre, Maine State Music Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, and countless others. Shawn is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
DIANA LAWRENCE (Musical Director) is thrilled to be at Woolly Mammoth Theatre with this Second City production. Diana has worked as a pianist/music director for many Chicago theatres, including ComedySportz, Apple Tree Theatre, and the Joffrey Ballet. She is also a singer/songwriter, and her debut album was released this summer. Diana’s first job with The Second City was touring Europe on a cruise ship, and though it was divine, she is happy to be on dry land this time in this fantastic city.
ANDREW F. GRIFFIN (Lighting Designer) is now designing his third show with Woolly Mammoth where he previously lit The Last Cargo Cult and The K of D. A freelance lighting designer based in Washington, DC, Andrew has created lighting designs for many companies in the DC area and beyond including Olney Theatre Center, Toledo Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre Children’s Chorus, The Delaware Shakespeare Festival, Studio Theatre, Imagination Stage, Forum Theatre, Washington Shakespeare Company, Adventure Theatre, and Synetic Theatre where his design of A Midsummer Night’s Dream was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lighting Design. KLYPH STANFORD (Set Designer) is designing his first show at Woolly Mammoth. Recent work includes Lighting Design for Henry VIII at Folger Theatre, Scene Design for The Piano Lesson at Hangar Theatre, Lighting and Projection Design for El Bola, Cuba’s King of Song, LightingDesign for El Retablillo de Don Cristobal at Gala Hispanic Theatre, and Scene and Projection Design for Hysteria (Helen Hayes Nomination) at Rep Stage. In addition his design work has been seen at Theater Alliance, African Continuum Theatre, Perseverance Theatre, Theatre J, Open Circle Theatre, Columbia Classical Ballet, Step Afrika, and Forum Theatre, among others. Mr. Stanford is a proud member of United Scenic Artists.
