REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing
FLSA: Full time
DEPARTMENT: Marketing Department
DATE POSTED: May 8th, 2023

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, a national leader in the creation of innovative theatre, is launching the third cohort of its transformative fellowship program in partnership and with a lead gift from the Miranda Family Fund, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s family philanthropic fund. This ambitious program is designed to provide talented candidates from historically excluded communities, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, with the job experience, resources and training necessary to build their careers as arts administrators or theatre technicians. Each fellowship is structured as a paid year-long department-specific position with benefits (including health insurance). The fellowships will take place over one year and begin in July 2023.

The Miranda Family Fellowship Program is in partnership and with a lead gift from the Miranda Family Fund. Major support is provided by the Wilke Family Foundation, the UPS Foundation, and the Patalano Family (Lou, Jodi, Ali, and Will) with additional support from Kristin Ehrgood and Vadim Nikitine and the Verizon Foundation.

The Miranda Family Marketing Fellow position offers the opportunity to be immersed in marketing, communications, and audience services and operate within a major theatre that is a nationally recognized innovator in the American theatre. The fellow will create content (photo, video, written), write and develop communications, assist with public relations, provide customer service, and aid in all the ways the team earns revenue needed to create transformative theatre at Woolly Mammoth. Marketing, Communications, and Audience Services (MCAS) are vital components of all non-profit arts and culture organizations, responsible for the patron’s journey from the moment they first hear about the theatre through their visit to see a performance and in post-attendance communications and engagement efforts.

Positions and careers that are bolstered by marketing, communications, and audience services skills include Artistic Directors, Managing Directors, senior leaders in Marketing and External Relations, communications managers, customer service leaders, fundraisers, event managers, and more.
