Adeke Rose

By Josh Feldman

Adeke Rose is a nationally known speaker, poet and spoken word artist. Named one of CBS Baltimore’s Best Poets for 2014, she uses her poetry to promote connection, growth, and healing in others. As a licensed psychotherapist she was concerned about reaching people, especially African Americans who were underserved or avoidant of the mental health system, in a non threatening yet effective manner. Her poetry is her vehicle to promote understanding, healing, growth and hope. Her soft spoken voice and humble nature, yet powerful presence has made her inspiring, effective and approachable. Her poetry covers multiple themes, has brought hope to others, and helped reduce the stigma of counseling and mental illness. Adeke Rose is the author of four poetry books/chapbooks and two albums of poetry.   For more information, she can be contacted on X at @adekerose, on Facebook at Adeke Rose, Poet, or through her website at www.adekerose.com.
