Barbara Samuels

Barbara Samuels (Lighting Designer, she/her) is a queer lighting designer, producer, and organizer whose work centers a diversity of approaches in creating intimate and explosive environments for live performance. Recently at Woolly Mammoth: There’s Always the Hudson. Some Recent New York designs include: Merry Me (New York Theatre Workshop), Public Obscenities (Soho Rep – Hewes Design Award), Wolf Play (Soho Rep, Ma-Yi, MCC – Lortel Nom.), Becky Nurse of Salem (Lincoln Center), Many Happy Returns (Monica Bill Barnes & Co.), In the Green (LCT3 – Lortel Nom.), and Rags Parkland Sings the Songs of the Future (Ars Nova – Drama Desk and Lortel Nom.). Barbara is the creative producer for Snatch Adams & Tainty McCracken Present It’s That Time of the Month, currently running at Soho Rep.
