Life affirming comedy brings joy and uplifts uniqueness without poking fun at people, especially marginalized people, or their experiences. In this workshop, learn some basic structures for writing stand up comedy and practice molding funny ideas into anti-oppressive comedy.
About Chelsea Shorte
CHELSEA SHORTE, originally from Richmond, VA, discovered comedy as a way to stave off the boredom of being a beautiful twenty-something. Since first taking the stage as a stand up, she has flourished and has further applied her creative drive to storytelling, podcasting, sketch writing, acting, and drag performance. She has had the privilege of performing at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC's historic Howard Theater, as well as multiple colleges and comedy venues across the country. Her stand up material ranges from riffs on the low bar for allyship to dating or even pythons in the Everglades.
Check her out as a co-host of the Tagg Nation podcast, taggnation.com.
