Open Call for Older Adult Participants

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company is working with Canadian performance company Mammalian Diving Reflex to create All the Sex I’ve Ever Had, a project that explores romance and sexuality from the perspective of older adults over the age of 65.

Join a wise council of local elders and as they open the door on a lifetime of experience. In our youth-obsessed culture, All the Sex I’ve Ever Had insists on something more radical: listening—really listening—to the people who have a lifetime of mischief, pleasure, and hard-won wisdom. Taking the audience on a journey from birth to present day, these elders show us that aging can yield a way of being in the world that is open, generous, and gloriously unafraid.

We are looking to speak with older adults who are open about their personal lives and how their sexuality has evolved over the years in order to find 6 participants who will be a part of the performances happening at Woolly.

Rehearsals will take place on select dates from Monday, January 25 through Thursday, February 18th. Performances will be in the evenings on February 19-28. You must be available for all of these dates in order to participate.

Requirements for participation in the project are:

  • Participants must not be professional actors or performers. We will only select non-performers.
  • Participants must be comfortable discussing personal opinions and experiences about sexuality with others in a group.
  • Participants must be comfortable sharing their stories in front of an audience.
  • Participants must be available during the rehearsal and performance dates listed above.
  • Participants will be provided an honoraria for being a part of the project of $1,500.

Interested participants will be invited to do an initial interview before being selected to be in the project.

If you are interested and available, please reach to Mekala Sridhar at ATS@woollymammoth.net  or call 202-312-5274 by October 16 so we can set up a time to interview with you.
