Woolly Mammoth is proud to display a series of works on paper by Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu. This exhibition, “Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu Works on Paper: In the Moment,” will mark the first time that the artist has ever displayed his works on paper. His paper works started with printmaking and, as he continued to teach various mediums around the DC community, it expanded into others. The audience is getting a first-time glimpse into the preliminary process of Chinedu’s work before it becomes a painting, sculpture, or other form. The medium he works with consists of charcoal, ink, and paint, and expands your idea of paper and creation in form and size. Exploring this medium helps him structure his paintings, creating a reference which then can be used for his larger pieces. As an educator for over 30 years, this is how he is able to explore and guide students in their work. Most of all, it allows for a deep emotional connection that can be felt and seen throughout his final product. This exhibition of his works on paper will culminate in a larger showcase of Osuchukwu’s work at Woolly Mammoth in 2026.
